ABOUT me

Hi, I'm Amy...

I incorporate a variety of styles within my timetable, from Vinyasa, Hatha, Mandala, Yin and Yoga Nidra, there’s a class for everyone. I enjoy teaching both strong and restorative classes, helping students build strength and flexibility while relieving stress and helping them find a sense of calm. As a group we’ll explore the relationship between Asana (postures) and the breath while increasing the flow of Prana (energy) throughout the body.

With over 570 hours of training accredited by Yoga Alliance, I have dedicated myself to the profound study and practice of yoga. After practicing yoga consecutively over the years, I decided to complete my 200 hour YT Training back in 2019. Since then, I've completed a few CPD's and an additional 300 hour training with The Shala, a prestigious yoga institute based in London's Norwood, which is dedicated to the traditional teachings of yoga. Ran by Gingi Lee and Melanie Cooper.

Whether you are an experienced yogi or taking your first steps onto the mat, my classes offer a sanctuary where you can explore, evolve, and find solace in the present moment. In my teaching, I draw upon yoga philosophy, coupled with modern insights into anatomy and alignment to support you on the mat.

Random bits about me...

ABOUT yoga

Want to join a yoga class but worried you’ll embarrass yourself? I’ve been there.
Want to join a yoga class but can’t come without a friend? I’ve been there.
Want to join a yoga class but can’t touch your toes? I’ve been there (+ it’s also a ridiculous excuse).

Yoga isn’t about your ability. The moment your ability comes into it so does your ego. The ego plays a big part in our daily lives but the moment you join one of my classes, we leave our egos at the door. Yoga isn’t about being able to balance without a wobble or standing on your head. It’s about finding ways to make your practice as comfortable as possible to suit your body. Your yoga practice is unique to you because everyBODY is different. Depending on the person, bones could be a different shape or length, meaning what is comfortable and accessible to one person is not always to another. Flexibility comes with its challenges too, if you’re super duper flexy you could experience issues with strength, and vice versa strength can sometimes mean you find yourself feeling like the tin man. Lucky for you yoga helps with both.

My point is… you are not forced into any aesthetically pleasing shape in my classes. I always give multiple options in postures for you to experiment with, we also use props to aid our practice and make the poses fit our body NOT make our body fit the poses. I tend to break postures down to slowly help you make your way into them + to understand them better in your body.

If you’re a little worried or have any concerns ASK ME ANYTHING + I’ll do my best to put your nerves at ease. My Beginners Yoga classes are a great place to start, Gentle Hatha is a wonderful class to help you relax or if your looking for a challenge ask me about my Flow classes.
